When I first saw this dress on the rack, I thought “Whoa! What are you? Why are you so ugly?” and I knew I had to try it on. I have affinity to try on seemingly ugly things and then loving them. That’s when I know I should buy them. It’s the pretty things that give me mixed emotions and the most heartache. Should I buy them, should I not? Do I REALLY like it or is it just cute? Would I be willing to spend this much, is it timeless, don’t I already have lots of these? Wah.

And so, I love this dress and it’s a keeper. The paperbag feel of the skirt is fantastic; it gives the bubble shape it’s volume and maintains it’s form. But the VOLUME! It’s all about the volume. The platforms I’m wearing are 4″ high and worked so well with this dress. I feel absolutely unstoppable strutting around campus in them.

It’s getting slightly chilly now, so this was tricky to wear since it’s actually sleeveless. This is the best I could come up with for now. The only thing I regret is that I don’t have a big enough statement necklace! Need more sparkley, more shiney! I’ll be writing a “how to wear bubble skirts” post this weekend

Hmmm…my hair looks like Anna Wintour’s bob when it’s wound up in my scarf. Not sure what to say there.

This is one of my ideal types of outfits: short skirt, sweater on top. I actually had a different outfit on, but I thought I’d be wasting it on a Tuesday since I have to quickly change and head over to lab anyway. I’m saving it for tmr so hopefully, it won’t be too cold.

I’ve been wanting shoes similar to these for awhile. And what luck!

    Zippered Sandals, Forever 21 ($27.80)

Thank you Forever 21! My love for you has no bounds at this point. Granted, I would definitely opt for the Louboutin’s, however I am sans the funds, so thank god XXI is shameless in copping designs.

Now here’s the problem…red or black?

I love how straight my hair is today, but it’s just getting too long. My look today is rather severe, upon inspection. Look at that collar with that skirt and that glare! So serious business! XD!

In other news, the university newspaper is letting me do a fashion column for them. There was no one in my room to celebrate with at the time when I read the email, so I jumped around/screamed/freaked out by myself. I am like, the happiest person in the world right now. First to know are K-Drama, Stephen-san, Arji, Wei-chuan, Killerspin, and now, you.

    A gentle metallic wave

Would you prefer a wink or a punch of color?

Must try: jackets cropped right at the pant waist-will they give me length? Also, gun metal gray does not seem so taboo in this subdued hue.

    Draping: flirty free/flirty fitted

Same belt worn cinched and loose, where can I find such versatility?

If you could wear the wind, would you run?

No sir, I would cat walk.

PS. Why don’t I own more strappy platforms? Why?

So I threw this on in a rush to go to class.

But as you can see by my cocky smirk, I did no such thing. My brain is mush from back to back tests, so I’m taking a pre-holiday. I noticed that this is rather boring, though it is cute. Such is the energy lost by the force of my schedule. Come next semester though, that will be a different story. I can’t wait to be an Academ again.

Whenever I add something new to my wardrobe, I can’t get enough of it. This coat, or more like duster or faux trench, is perfect for Texas weather because It doesn’t actually keep me warm.

The best thing about this coat? It has random Hangul (Korean writing) on it. Did you know Forever 21 was started by a Korean couple in LA? Now you do.

I can not get enough of this hoodie that I bought Saturday with my Asian Suhweet (plus Gossip Girl). It’s a dress! It’s a jacket! It’s got the perfect bubble hem! You’ll see my other coat that I got sometime this week. I’m attempting to recreate a look I saw in Seventeen, but can’t quite remember the details.

Its been called to my attention that I definitely need more thick, waist cinching belts. Especially brown ones. I have too much decora and not enough staples to flatter them. Also, my faith in Forever 21 has been restored. That’s been happening a lot lately, where some basic name brand stores are churning out some pretty great pieces, ie. Gap and now FXXI. Surprise me more!
